Truth And Justice Now!

“Pearse Jordan, unarmed IRA volunteer, a victim of Britain’s shoot-to-kill policy. Murdered by RUC! Covered up by PSNI. Over 1,100 people have been killed by British government policies of collusion – all with official impunity. Justice delayed – justice denied. Truth and justice now!” Jordan was shot in 1992. The killing was ruled unlawful by the European Court Of Human Rights in 1991 (WP).

Collusion

It’s not clear that this ‘collusion’ tarp – with spider-legs of MI5, UDR, PSNI, RHC, UFF, LVF, UDA, UVF and a web beginning at the door of 10 Downing Street – was ever hung, perhaps due to the spelling mistake: “A web of double-agents, death squads and deciept [sic]”. Similar image on Andersonstown Road. It is lying at the Glen Road-Falls Road junction, site of the old RUC barracks.

Pat Finucane

“Targeted by British Establishment; Executed by Loyalist killer gang.” Solicitor and “human rights activist” Pat Finucane was shot in 1989 at his home in north Belfast by loyalist paramilitaries aided by MI5. Collusion in the killing was admitted in 2011 by then-Prime Minister David Cameron. Ten years after Finucane’s death, Rosemary Nelson was also assassinated. “If you don’t defend human rights lawyers, who will defend human rights? – Rosemary Nelson”. The plaque was “unveiled by his family Sunday 11th February 2007”.

The board in Beechmount Drive was originally black.

Angela Gallagher

“Dedicated to the memory of Angela Gallagher who was killed near this spot 3rd September 1971 aged 17 months. Jesus, friend of children, bless the children of the whole world. “May you stop here to remember the innocents amid the tragedy of conflict”” Gallagher was killed by a ricocheting IRA bullet.

Santa Is A British Agent

Above: “Cáısc [Easter] 1916”, dating back to at least 1990. Below: “Santa is a British agent” (perhaps because of spying concerns or perhaps because of the blizzard that dropped 15 cm of snow in early January, 2008 – get in touch if you know what prompted this graffiti) with “Join Sınn Féın” stencils underneath.

Ireland – Catalonia

Catalonian independence mural, repainted from the black-background version, previously seen in 1997 and 2004.

“Not Spain, not France. Free Catalonia. Since 1714 the Catalan nation is military [sic] occupied for the Spanish and French states. Catalonia has their own culture, language, and history. Our country has more than 1000 years of history as a nation. The Catalan flag is the first European flag. Our fight flag is the “Estalada”. The white star means the freedom, and the blue triangle stands for the sky of humanity. Free Catalonia! United Ireland! El nostre dia arribarà! Tıocfaıdh ár lá. 11/8/97″
