This is a new plaque to Stephen McConomy, killed by a plastic bullet in 1982 (for the previous plaque, see M03363) along with (on the fence below) a reproduction of the front page of the Derry Journal that announced his death.

This is the updated version of a mural seen previously in 2007. The main panels remain the same, but the apex has been changed from Orange Order flag and St Andrew’s Saltire to a ribbon read “Fight to a finish”, with shamrocks.

… or “LCDA” for short. There’s no information about the group on-line, so it’s not clear if it is/was a predecessor to the UDA (as e.g. with the WDA) or the local battalion of the UDA. Feedback is welcomed.

These stencilled notices are on the outside of the Belvoir Bar in east Belfast: “Property of east Belfast Ulster Volunteer Force – Not for sale” alongside a plaque to “fallen comrades” Robert Bennett, Roy Walker, Joseph Long, James Cordner, and Robert Seymour. It seems that the bar has been shuttered since 2011 (Belfast Telegraph).
