Release The Political Hostages

“We have achieved peace, we have maintained peace – now stop the injustice: release our political hostages.” “Dedicated to Mark Rice”, a Tullycarnet resident who was jailed for 20 years for possession of an assault rifle used in the attack on Sean Graham bookmakers on the Ormeau Road in February 1992 (Relatives For Justice). To the left of centre, a red fist smashes through an Irish tricolour; a tricolour is also worn by the volunteer in the crosshairs.

We Are The Pilgrims

“We are the pilgrims, master; we shall always go a little further.” Copy of a UVF Tamar Street mural (perhaps after that area was redeveloped) above Cheepers on the Newtownards Road, Belfast. Below that is the view from Chamberlain Street in 2008, looking out over the red-white-and-blue kerbstones.

BRY – RIRA – CIRA

This series of images comes from the Lecky Road, Derry underpass. Patsy O’Hara, Joe McDonnell, and Tom McElwee get individual boards. Unusually, both the Real IRA and Continuity IRA are included in the final panel. As can be seen in the wide shot, to the left are Roll Of Honour and BRY 1969.
