A “Public Assemblies, Parades and Protests Bill” (available at CAIN) would require 37 days’ notice before any parade or rally. Concerns were raised that it would stifle the “freedom of assembly” (Guardian). The bill was dropped after the Orange Order voted against it (BBC). Chamberlain Street, Derry.

“End political internment – 38 days.” “38 days” is added to the graffiti previously in support Terry McCafferty. The prisoner in question is Martin Corey, member of Republican Sınn Féın and allegedly involved with the CIRA. The graffiti (and RSF stencil) is at the top of the New Lodge Road, Belfast.

“Stop the extradition of Sean Garland”. Workers’ Party general secretary and alleged OIRA chief of staff Sean Garland fought extradition to the United States on charges of counterfeiting from 2005 to 2012 (and was ultimately successful).
