Blessed Are Those Who Hunger For Justice

This poster of Irish hunger strikers goes back before Frank Stagg and Michael Gaughan in the 1970s to include Thomas Ashe, Michael Fitzgerald, Terence McSwiney, Joseph Murphy, Joseph Whitty, Dennis Barry, Andrew O’Sullivan, Tony D’Arcy, [Seán] Jack MacNeela, and Sean McCaughey.

There are individual portraits of all twelve.

Banbridge Orange Arch

Here are shots of both sides of the arch in Newry Street, Banbridge. In addition to the usual Orange symbols and King Billy, the arch lists both Royal Black chapters and local Orange lodges, and on each pillar is the symbol of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland (GOLI)

Claudy Bombing Memorial

Three suspected IRA car bombs exploded on Main Street, Claudy, on July 31st, 1972, killing nine people and injuring 30. This memorial on Church Street was designed by Elizabeth McLoughlin and unveiled in 2000.  The plaque also acknowledges “the suffering and loss of many others in the Claudy region over the years.”
