Killed In Action

m01023

This is an early version of the Brian Robinson mural in Disraeli Street, Belfast. It features Robinson’s portrait in a wreath (“For God and Ulster – 1st Batt. B. Coy”) and the emblems of the UVF and PAF. It would later be modified to include flags and a scroll. Robinson was shot by the British Army in 1989 immediately after he had shot and killed a Catholic (Paddy McKenna) walking along Crumlin Road.

The Support Of Our People Is Obvious

m01012

“The support of our people is obvious, in that we could not survive or increase our operations without it. With our support, our weaponry and the calibre of our volunteers and activists, we will win and are set firmly [on] the task of achieving victory.” With the lark as the ‘Spirit of freedom’ and a celebrating volunteer in the tri-colours. New Lodge Road, Belfast.
